Fix Britain’s Broken Parents is a national reform paper from It’s Never You, setting out how government can create a coordinated, whole-family response to serious childhood illness. It proposes practical action on employment rights, financial security, mental health, sibling support and bereavement care from diagnosis onwards.
Britain does not lack resilient parents; it lacks a system designed to support them. When a child becomes seriously ill, there is a clinical plan for the child but no equivalent plan for the family. Parents are left to navigate lost income, employment insecurity, psychological pressure and the needs of siblings through a fragmented system that often intervenes too late.
Fix Britain’s Broken Parents presents a practical national framework for earlier, coordinated support bringing government, healthcare, employers and schools together around the whole family.
The White Paper will be released early September 2026.
